PRESENTER : CONTENT DIRECTOR
Ginni has been spreading her dulcet tones all over the JOY 94.9 airwaves since 2006. Given her upbringing, Ginni started out as a quiet, studious and a “goody two shoes,” from her primary to early high school years. Later on, through the encouragement of close friends, she found confidence in public speaking which sparked of love for performing arts and theatre, so, with that new found knowledge….Ginni’s quiet exterior diminished rather quickly!
Majoring in Drama and Cinema at University, Ginni and high school friend Samantha D’Rosario established Clash/50 Productions – an independent theatre company that produced three productions (two of which had sold out seasons) – to which she held the role of Artistic Director, Producer, Writer and Actress. It was in the third year of university that Ginni stumbled across a radio course at a little station in Coventry Street South Melbourne called JOY 94.9. Even though she possessed a knack for public speaking with her strong performing arts background, Ginni shyed away from on air announcing as coming to terms with her sexuality on the airwaves of Australia’s largest and only LGBT media broadcaster was a little overwhelming.“I was a bit shy coming to JOY as I was at that cusp where I hadn’t quite come out yet,” she says. “I guess it was about putting myself in a situation where I would have to become more comfortable with who I am. I actually said I would do anything but be on air, but the program manager at the time put me on an 11pm slot and from there it kind of blossomed. Now they can’t get rid of me.”
Since then, Ginni has featured on an array of programming – from Drive to Breakfast on the popular show The Hump Day Crew generating entertaining programming through inviting an exceptional GLBTIQ A-List Guest List! And now, she has done the same for Her Society. Outside of JOY 94.9, Ginni has established a solid career in media. Concurenttly to her hosting duties at JOY, Ginni is a regulat MC at the largest events across Australia – Midsumma, Lick and Pinkalicious across Melbourne, Sydney and the Australian Eastern Seaboard. A compassionate individual, Ginni is not afraid to provide a voice to minority groups. Her passion lies in working with like minded community groups and figures in an attenpt to inspire change and positivity through education and cultivating a broader perception. She is known for her charisma, wit and bubbly energy.
Natalie’s career revolves around the Film, TV, Events and Entertainment industry, working as one of Australis very few Location Mangers. Having worked on over 300 TV commercials, 100 photographic shoots for major networks such as Channel 7, 9 and 10 on feature films such as Ghost Rider, Nightmards and Dreamscapes, and In Her Skin.
Natalie is also Australia’s leading lesbian events producer, managing events both in Sydney and Melbourne cities specifically for the LGBT community. Her recent event in July 2011 atrracted over 1,100 girls and she was personally asked to feature in the ALSO foundation’s recent safe sex television commercial as apart of their Take Care Out There project.
Completing the Taste Of Radio course in November 2010, Natalie has a new found passion for radio with an aspiring dream to open up our lesbian/bisexual community to the world and vice versa.“We want to expose our lesbian culture to the world and vice-versa. Every country has a different lesbian culture and we want to bring all that together into the one portal, which is Her Society, and to make it a one-stop place for news, current affairs and events, and we’ll be running a website alongside this too. It’s your one-stop portal for girls who love girls.”
